Are you ready for some fun projects?! We made two cute cards and a neat box at stamp club last Saturday. I'm going to go ahead and post the cards even though I have another hostess club this month that hasn't met yet.
The first project is a technique called Bargello. We had a great time working with the small strips of paper and cutting them and arranging them, and then embellishing the card.
I used the Build-a-Bear Positively Prints II designer paper. We cut 6" long strips in varing widths from 1/8" to 5/8" wide. Adhere them to a piece of 6×6 paper. You can use copy paper that isn't very thick. It will not show. Then turn the piece of paper 90 degrees and cut the paper in 3/4" strips. Place these on another piece of 4-1/4" x 5" piece of copy paper all going in the same direction but in various positions. We then cut the paper with the top note die. We placed it on a piece of Marina Mist cardstock that had been embossed and then embellished with flowers and sentiment.
The second project is a fun, quick technique — stamping with a clear block. When we started talking about this project, everyone told me that we already were stamping with a clear block. BUT, we colored on the block with a marker and then stamped it – that was very different from sticking a stamp image to the clear block. It gives a fun and different background. The stamp is a single stamp in the Summer Mini catalog called Sail Away. I used Baja Breeze and Not Quite Navy on this card.
Stay tuned for more cute projects. I went to a stamping retreat over this past weekend and made lots of gorgeous things. We made 24 cards, a great scrapbook, a bracelet, a travel journal and a frame. I'll have pictures and information posted tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope something you see here inspires you to stamp!
